This city will not leave anyone indifferent, when you will visit it. The old sights of the city are not to be missed: the Historical Town Hall, Sint-Kwintenskerk, Sint-Michielskerk, Leuven Train Station, Old Market Square and ,of course, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven).
For me, one that stands out the most in heart of the city is the Town Hall, which I saw on my first day in Leuven. Besides the rest of the buildings, it stands out for its unusual appearance: the large number of statues on the sides of the town hall, which show biblical scenes from as far back as 1440-1460 years. This style is called Brabant Late Gothic. It’s definitely worth seeing. But the town hall was very badly damaged after World War II, and it wasn’t reconstructed until 1983.
I love small towns that preserve the history of the city and country as a whole. Belgium is amazing, even though it’s a small country. Here in different cities you can feel the history of origin, see with your own eyes and enjoy it.
