The trip to Ukraine was not easy, because I didn’t choose the best route: I flew to Warsaw and it took 24 hours to get to Uzhgorod!
Conclusion: plan your trip in advance by bus with the right route and don’t be afraid of new countries, in my case Slovakia🙃.
When I crossed the border between Poland and Ukraine, I felt like I was out of my country: everything looks pretty much the same as before, on the way to the city of Lviv, but people continue to be friendly – always helpful and helpful with all questions for tourists.
Still, I didn’t see that anything has changed in our country, at least a little … it is difficult to develop the cities of Ukraine in wartime.
I understood that I came here for the competitions, to meet with friends, athletes and some current questions about my further studies at university, so I felt that I was a guest here…
Well, I was glad to drink the most delicious coffee in the city of Lviv (cafe Lviv croissants), feel the life of many Ukrainians now and compete again at the national level in Ukraine. I am glad that a large number of people are in their country and trying to develop in their fields, but I have to go back to Belgium. As awful as it may sound, I am happy to build my life in Belgium, running, study and develop there. I feel very comfortable in Belgium, even though I heard from friends and some athletes that Europe is not for them. I’m very afraid to always go out of my comfort zone, but with the change of country I managed to pull myself out of an environment where I feel good and don’t need anything else…Yes, it’s hard, but it’s a development and a contribution to myself! I hope for the next trip to Ukraine, and no matter what the purpose of it will be. Missed everyone, missed the Ukrainian atmosphere and life, can’t feel that in Europe!
